NY Street Style: Lady turns it OUT.

This lovely lady posed for me on a cold day in New York City. Everything about her outfit is incredible. She collects vintage Bakelite, and she MADE her own fur wrap/scarf. I don't even have any idea how one goes about making a fur stole, but apparently this lovely New Yorker is a fashion genius. Her dress and cardigan are from the 1950's, and they added cozy layers while creating an hourglass silhouette. She had the perfect combination of vintage glamor and modern trends.  I loved her sky high chunky clog platforms, her leopard print phone case, her incredible bright red hair, and her general high fashion fierce femme demeanor. We talked about our shared love of fashion and vintage finds, and she let me document her whole situation, down to her bright blue nails
Internet, I have a new style icon.

Make Up Inspiration: Brigitte Bardo Eyes. Cats Eye.

Because of FemmeRealness, I was inspired today to try big dramatic Brigitte Bardo Eyes. I used Sephora Brand Gold Eyeshadow. I want to try this look with fake lashes sometime, but since it was day time I just used a ton of mascara. I used L'oreal Black Felt Tip Eyeliner on the lash line and from the inner corner onto the Crease. Double cats eye! Then I piled on that mascara, and I drew some eyelashes along the lower lash line.

I thought having liner on the crease of my eye would look weird and kinda Cirque de Solei-ish, but I'm happy with the end result. Def. not a look for the faint of heart, this eye makeup packs a punch! I am totally feeling the 60's huge mod eye makeup look...I think it might be the fault of the costume designers on Mad Men. Tabarnac de Calisssse!
There is also something a bit Peg Bundy about this too?

Brigitte Bardo meets Peg Bundy. Now that's my kind of Femme.

Nail Game: Teal Soiree. Metallic Teal with Glitter Tips Manicure.

Start with three coats of Aldo Nailpolish in Royal Mint. Let Dry. Paint the tips with some swipes of Art Club Nail Art Laquer in NA25 Hologram (got it at duane reade).
Finally fill in the tips with Deborah Lippman in Happy Birthday.

Get your spring sprung and your nail game on!

Needs to be cleaned up a bit, but Voila! Teal Soiree!

Hair thoughts... to Femme Mullet or not to Femme Mullet.

This is a Femme Mullet. Now that I cut off the dyed pink tips I had, I am itching for some edge to my hairstyle. Also it's getting to be summer, and for some reason I always want to shave/cut my hair in summertime.

So I am conflicted. I have had long hair for a while now, but I have done crazy things in the past like shave my entire head. On the one hand, this would be a bitch to grow out, on the other hand, it is pretty ferosh. Thoughts? Comments? Advice?

Here is my hair right now, in it's natural thick wavy state and straight. When curly it is right at my shoulders, when straight it is a good 2 or 3 inches longer.
