More 90's buisness. What if God was one of us? Oh Joan. She got tagged a one hit wonder but her music is incredible, and she has continued to put out albums over the years. I still love it; the lyrics, her voice, and I love the images in this video.

Prints.

I've been really interested in (quelle suprise) fabric and prints lately. I am really loving when a piece has an unexpected print, or color, or embroidery. So here is some Duke Ellington, some street style, some inspiration, and more. This song is Caravan, off of the album Money Jungle. It was recorded in September 1962. Duke Ellington (piano); Charles Mingus (bass); Max Roach (drums).

Private Diva Moment P.D.M.

SO! DJ Noisy Nora's return to the stage was triumphant! Hooray! I had a great time playing at Hey Queen! (Pics are forthcoming.) Among my usual Lil' Kim, Sergio Mendez, La Roux, mixin'....I played this song mash up from Glee. Yes Glee. No DJ hipster snobbery here.
I haven't even seen the episode yet but I love it and can't get it out of my head.

"When you played that song, everyone in the room had their own Private Diva Moment."
 - Hannah May, audience member, queer dance party expert, in her mid-twenties

So I invite you to play this video,
turn it all the way up
and have your own P.D.M.
(also known as Private Diva Moment.

Style, Music, 60's, Hair, DUSTY.

Dusty Springfield is a recording artist who was best known for her work in the 1960's. She had amazing style, an an incredible voice. Her songs have been used in the Tarantino film Pulp Fiction, and she is a legend of British Pop.

Things to Love about Dusty
Her spot on sexy and powerful alto voice, her hair, her eyeliner, her incredible bright creative style, her performance, and her HAIR...I could go on for days...just see for yourself.

High Voltage Hair
Who knows how to do this other than the people who work on mad men????

Love the colors here. Big Hair, Brights, Black eyes, classic Mod.
Oh hai sequins.

In your living room...

In your living room...

      singing our hearts out.

say it ain't so.
Are you blessed to have a brother or sister (or 2, 3, 4, or more)? If they live close enough, be sure to connect with them today, or this weekend and give them a huge hug. If not, call them as soon as possible. However you connect, use today to tell them one thing about them you absolutely adore but have never shared. There is nothing but love for us to claim, and no day but today to claim it! -Lisa D.
